Top 10 Waterfalls in Slovenia

Slovenia's waterfalls all lie within an hour of one another in the Julian Alps and the Soča valley. The Triglav National Park alone holds Savica, Peričnik, Boka, Kozjak and others. All ten on the map.

1. Boka Falls, Soča valley

139-metre roadside fall, Slovenia's tallest, on the Bovec-Kobarid road. Year-round flow but extreme in spring snowmelt.

2. Savica Falls, Bohinj

78-metre A-shaped twin plunge above Lake Bohinj. 20-minute uphill walk to the viewing platform from the road.

3. Peričnik Falls, Triglav NP

52-metre walk-behind fall in the Vrata valley. Lower fall has a path beneath the curtain. Year-round flow.

4. Kozjak Falls, Soča valley

15-metre fall inside a circular limestone amphitheatre near Kobarid — one of the most photographed falls in Slovenia. 30-minute walk.

5. Virje Falls, Soča valley

10-metre fall into an electric-blue pool near Bovec. Bathable summer pool; popular Instagram spot.

6. Šum Falls, Vintgar gorge

13-metre fall at the end of the Vintgar gorge boardwalk near Bled. Paid entry to the gorge; one-way 1.6-km walk.

7. Rinka Falls, Logar Valley

90-metre plunge at the head of the Logarska Valley, glacial origin. Forest path to base; café at lower viewpoint.

8. Slap Mostnica, Bohinj

Series of low cascades and a 21-metre fall through the Mostnica gorge above Stara Fužina. 2-hour loop walk; pay entry.

9. Slap Sopot, Soča valley

Twin 30-metre falls in the Idrijca valley. Less visited than Kozjak; bathable summer pool.

10. Slap Veliki, Pohorje

76-metre fall on the Šumik in Pohorje primaeval forest — protected since 1892, one of central Europe's last virgin forests.
